BAKOU, Azerbaijan, January 10

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

In line with its strategy to become the world leader in carbon reduction technologies by 2024, Danish technology provider Haldor Topsoe signed a € 45 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank ( BEI) to support its investments in research and development (R&D) in this area, reports Trend with reference to Haldor Topsoe.

EIB funding is supported by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), the main pillar of the European Commission’s Investment Plan for Europe. The European funding underscores the company’s commitment to developing new technologies to support a wide range of energy-intensive industries in their transition to a low-carbon future.

The R&D investments supported by EIB financing support Haldor Topsoe’s ambition to develop new technologies and catalysts to support its clients in the transition to increased use of renewable energies, as well as the carbon neutrality of industrial operations. In accordance with this objective, the company focuses specifically on R&D activities with the highest potential for reducing carbon emissions.

There is a clear emphasis on investment in R&D for the development of new catalysts, catalytic technologies and innovative hydrogen technologies that should reduce carbon emissions. Some of the most promising environmentally friendly technologies in this regard are for the production of greener chemicals and renewable fuels, such as green hydrogen, green ammonia, biofuels and electrified methanol.
